NFL picks 2020, Week 2

The Panel of Fans agrees that the Cardinals, Ravens, Chiefs, Bills, Titans, Steelers, and Saints get wins.

Week 1 is in the books and it came with some surprises in the shape of the Jaguars over the Colts, the Redskins shocked the Eagles with a spirited second-half performance, and Kyler Murray’s Cardinals stealing one over the 49ers. The Chiefs beat the Texans on Thursday night. The Ravens outscored the Browns by 32 points, while the Aaron Rodgers put on a virtuoso performance against the Vikings. The Patriots are off to a winning start as are the Steelers, Seahawks, and the Bills. The highlight of the week was Joe Burrow’s performance against the much-respected Chargers defence, as he mixed intelligence and grit to bring his club close to a win.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens looked unstoppable in week 1 and they are tipped to bring the hurt to the Texans this weekend. Other teams the panel unanimously agrees will win are the Bills over the Dolphins, Chiefs over the Chargers, Packers over the Lions, Steelers over the Broncos, Titans over the Jaguars, Cardinals over the Redskins, and the Saints over the Raiders.

In Week 2 my team to watch will be the Cowboys, again they find the weight of their fanbase weighing heavy on them. An 0-2 start is not a good place to be for a team with playoff hopes, let alone for a team looking to win the division. There were some positive signs from their play in week one in the loss to the Rams, sadly for them, they go up against a Falcons team that looks ready for a battle and will be eager to avoid an 0-2 start.

The game of the week, Ravens v Texans. The Texans defence has stopped carrying the team as it once did and as they come up against the MVP and his star-studded team, they need to get the offence a few stops so they can allow the offence to keep up. The Texans offence was struggling to make up for their way up the field and establish any form of dominance last Thursday. The absence of Hopkins is telling, and Watson will need his receiving core to be in their top form for points to keep ticking especially if the run game cannot get going. It is always a thrill watching either one of Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson face each other. This is a must-see.

Some surprises last week, what will this week bring?
