Big week for the UFC’s 2020 schedule

Big week for the UFC’s 2020 schedule: Tony Ferguson v Khabib Nurmagomedov, Conor McGregor v Donald Cerrone booked in a week.

It has been an amazing year for the UFC and their fans this year, as the calendar winds down with UFC 245 on the 14th of December before one more night of action.

But away from the highly anticipated scheduled fight between Kamuru Usman and Colby Covington there were two super fights that were signed, sealed and delivered to fight fan’s doors.

The most anticipated fight in the UFC, the Lightweight title bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov has been penned for 18th April 2020 at the Barclays Centre in New York. The fight was sealed early this morning when it was confirmed that Ferguson had signed the contract at the UFC offices in Las Vegas. The fight has fallen through five times since 2015 and everyone will cross their fingers in hope of seeing this one go down, finally.

An equally seismic event took place this week when the return of the Notorious Conor McGregor was confirmed for UFC 246 on the 18th of January 2020 in Las Vegas. He has gone for one of the top fighters but signing a deal to fight Donald Cerrone at Welterweight which has surprised some. That said it will be a good old-fashioned throw down when the cage is locked.

I am loving what Dana White and the UFC are cooking. I am so excited about the year ahead.
