NFL picks 2019, Week 8

NFL picks 2019, Week 8: The Panel of Fans agree on 49ers, Lions and Steelers backed to bag Ws as a
huge Monday Night Football reminder awaits James Conner.

Week 7 was kinder to the panel as the lowest scoring managed eight correct predictions. On the field of play the Cowboys absolutely destroyed the Eagles, as the Titans stunned the hot and mostly cold Chargers, the Colts came through with the upset of the week as they put the Texans to the sword. The two Aarons were magical as they blew the Raiders 42-24, Arizona made sure to keep growing with their 27-21 win over the Giants, and Kirk Cousins and his Vikings put up huge numbers on the Lions.

The Patriots and the 49ers are still undefeated in case you forgot; how can we forget Richard Sherman just won’t let up.

The best record from week 7 went out to Wayne and Tawanda with a 12-2, while Peter was in second place with a 11-3. I was the last man to score a double figure with the correct predictions with a 10-4. Tashinga and our Guest Expert bagged a 9-5 record for the week while at the bottom of the pile the $2 coin, Garnet and Wayne were sitting pretty with their 8-6 records.

The rankings for far -:

NFL Predictions Season Overall

Guest Expert 66-42
Peter 65-43
Tashinga 64-44
Tawanda 61-47
Philani 61-47
Wayne 60-48
Garnet 59-49
$2 coin 55-53

The panel agrees that the 49ers, Lions and Steelers are all sure picks. The Patriots, Chargers, Bills, and Rams all lost the unanimous winner status by having just one panel member opt for the opposition.

In Week 8 my team to watch will be the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have struggled for consistency and coach Lynn is starting to sound like a broken record promising to learn from defeats and build on lacklustre performances. This week they face a Bears team that has its own issues at quarterback but have the defence to test the best of teams and players on offence who can make something from nothing.

It will be a stern test on offence as the offence has gone stale as they try to force feed Melvin Gordon and still keep the receivers happy even with Hunter Henry back, Phillip Rivers will have to be on his A-game and hope for great pass protection to get the big plays he usually gets. Keenan Allen has gone colder than Siberia after a hot start, while Mike Williams isn’t using his frame as he once did dropping red zone targets.

For the game of the week I pick the battle of the bastards, two really not so good quarterbacks squaring up when the Buccaneers face the Titans. Ryan Tannenhill is looking for yet another win while Jameis Winston needs to keep his team from looking elsewhere for a quarterback, it will be an intriguing game.
