King of Manchester City: Kun Aguero

Today Manchester City fans are commemorating eight years of Kun Aguero’s signing. The 31-year-old Argentine has been a reliable source of goals for the Cityzens since joining back in 2011. When Kun Aguero arrived at the Etihad, he was battling for a spot with world-class centre forwards in the form of Edin Džeko, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli.

Aguero has managed to assert himself as the undisputed king of centre forwards at Manchester City over the years. All three managers he has played for at the Etihad have opted for him to be the man to lead the line. He has even put down his name as one of the best strikers in the history of the Premier League. Here is a look at his achievements at the club:

Goals

The goals mentioned below include goals scored in all competitions (Premier League, FA Cup, Football League/EFL, Champions League)
2011/12 – 30

2015/16 – 29
2016/17 – 33
2017/18 – 30

Aguero is Manchester City’s all-time leading goal scorer, a record he will easily extend at the Etihad and most likely hold for a long time to come.

Aguero currently has 164 Premier League goals which see him sitting in 6th place in the Premier League’s all-time leading goal scorers ranking. He is interestingly just 23 goals behind Andy Cole who sits in third place and 15 goals behind Thierry Henry who is one spot ahead of him. Aguero stormed to match Alan Shearer’s record of 11 Premier League hat-tricks. When he scored two hat-tricks in the space of a week versus topsides Chelsea and Arsenal to equal the astonishing record.
